The memorandum outlines a $225 million expansion for semiconductors.
The Commerce Department signed a preliminary agreement with Bosch this month, finalizing a proposal to provide $225 million to expand the automotive supplier’s manufacturing facility in Roseville, California. Bosch is a global company that already makes semiconductor chips for use in automobiles, and Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo anticipates that this investment will incentivize the growth of domestic manufacturing within the United States.
“SiC (silicon carbide) chips are important components for applications in the automotive, telecommunications, and defense industries because they utilize less energy, and with this proposed investment, we are taking another important step in fulfilling that priority to ensure our supply chains are more secure while creating over a thousand anticipated jobs in the process,” said Secretary Raimondo.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For Secretary Raimondo to be led by the Lord as she oversees the Commerce Department.
- For Commerce Department officials as they seek to strengthen domestic production of semiconductors.
